Hi - I am Imac Zambrana. I am a cognitive and behavioral scientist who has mainly been interested in how humans learn about their worlds. And how the human mind develops its unique ability to gather knowledge through human interactions, exploration, and imagination. Recently, and as a result of new advancements in tech, I have started to think more about how we need to educate ourselves – So that we can become literate enough to be able to develop and use new technologies in ways that will be of benefit to humanity and a sustainable future. I have some ideas about what human skills we need to protect and encourage to be able to interact optimally with and without these new technologies. But I have come to realize that I need to understand more in-depth how the technology works and where we are going with it. This is why I decided to seek out some people who are smarter than me from the fields of tech and AI – to better understand what we know, what we don’t know, and what we need to know, to ensure that we as humans are as prepared for the future as the machines are. Humans have a tremendous potential to adjust to changing circumstances, and our active and creative ways of meeting what we know is coming, what might come, and to imagine, dream and prepare for realities that might never come, is simply astonishing. This podcast is a tribute to our malleable nature – welcome to The Chameleons Podcast.
