ALIE: “Grab anything you can use as a weapon! We won’t go quietly!” Alun grabbed a kitchen knife, Katy armed herself with a rolling pin, Iris fished a small futuristic gun from her pocket and Alie grabbed a fire iron. When she saw tiny Gwyn holding the tiny fork from the coffee set, she realised that he was an easy target and most certainly their weak spot if he got caught. ALIE: Gwyn, I need you to hide for the time being. No one, except for us and the Legends, knows about you being a tiny version of yourself. We can use this to our advantage. You will be our secret weapon! Alie picked him up gently and had him hide in the lowest shelf of a cupboard. Gwyn didn’t look pleased at first, but the idea of being their secret weapon was quite exciting. Hidden behind tin cans, he could still see the rest of the group, and he started to worry for them. What if they were arrested again or worse? In her vision, Alie had seen them all dead… The kitchen door flew open, but from his observation point, Gwyn couldn’t see who entered. ALIE: You! KATY: What a relief! IRIS: Glad you made it out of jail! When Gwyn saw them all place their weapons aside, he left his hiding spot and recognised Gideon and Gary who started talking at the same time, making it impossible for them to understand what they were saying. [loud banging sound] Everyone startled upon hearing the loud bang, and they turned towards Iris. IRIS: What? I came up with the first idea I could think of to make them shut up! Iris was still holding the heavy ladle she had used to hit the pot in which Katy had cooked the meal. IRIS: Also, I’m still starving! Gideon and Gary stated that they were hungry too. KATY: There’s plenty of food left. Let me warm it up for you. Gwyn was picked up by Alun and placed on the table, while everyone sat back. ALIE: What is the rest of the Legends’ status? Iris told us that there is a bounty on the Legends. Gary’s face dropped and Gideon explained that when Jennifer got caught before she could hand them all the keys, Sara decided that they would all gather at one location and use a single key. Sadly, the alarm sounded before they could reach said location. Gary started whining: “I knew this was a terrible plan! Miss Sharpe said that we should reach the mess hall separately to avoid attracting attention, and now we don’t even know if they’re safe!” IRIS: I could help with that. I believe that I can still teleport inside the prison. I can check if they have been caught or not. KATY: Can’t you teleport them back here with you if you locate them? IRIS: This is not Star Trek, Katy! My teleporter only works for my DNA. If anyone else tries to use it, they will be turned into grey mush. Gwyn gently pocked Alie: “What is Star Trek?” ALIE: It’s my favourite show! It’s a science-fiction show created in the 60s, about a starship and its crew exploring space. KATY: Space, the final frontier… These are the voyages of the… IRIS: He won’t get the reference, Katy. “Fascinating…” was all Gwyn could say. KATY: Oh my God, he sounds like Data! “Who?” Alie rolled her eyes: ALIE: My favourite character from the show, but I’ll tell you more about him later. We have more pressing matters to deal with. Iris, can you find out what happened with the rest of the Legends, preferably without triggering any alarm? IRIS: Aye, aye, Captain! ALIE: Meanwhile, Katy and myself will try to locate someone who could be a great help to us. Gwyn, you’re coming with us! Before he, or Alun, could object, Alie placed the tiny scientist back in her pocket. ALIE: Gideon, Gary and Alun, would you mind going through the mansion’s library? Try to find a way to make sure that no one else but us can use the keys. Good luck everyone!
