CRANE: With the apprehension of Dr. Thomas Elliot and Basil Karlo, order has once again been restored to Arkham Asylum; and it would seem a calm has fallen over Gotham City. Though that won’t last long. Once the lights go out, the proverbial cockroaches will once again skitter through the streets. I will enjoy the quiet while it lasts. My stay at Gotham Memorial was not an unpleasant one; my leg will heal just fine – a fact I declared several times, but doctors are a stubborn breed. Myself included, I suppose. On the subject of stubborn, it will not come as a surprise that we have a new patient on the grounds. Edward Nygma has returned to Arkham Asylum’s loving arms. I have suggested that he be allowed to continue with his little ‘social experiment’, in the hopes that this will keep his attention focused on things other than escape. Idle hands and all that. This leads me to another point. A very heartfelt thank you to all those who helped me both identify and capture Dr. Thomas Elliot. I certainly could not have done it alone. I’m sure Edward will be thanking you personally, if he hasn’t already. As to his sincerity, I cannot comment, though I wouldn’t get my hopes too high. I’ve noticed some inquiries have been appearing in my inbox, and now that I have more fitting facilities at my disposal – an attempt at appeasement from Jeremiah Arkham, no doubt – I will be able to answer aforementioned questions as well as be able to resume my psychiatric practice. Personal note – update patient list to reflect newest referrals. Addendum: thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes. While I don’t celebrate it personally, I appreciate the sentiment.
