Every once in a while, I take it upon myself to help the strugglers of the world muddle their way through some quote unquote difficult riddles. Consider this a public service. Im-a-nerd-fear-me said: dear Riddler, I have a riddle that I’ve been having some trouble with for some time I was wondering if you could help seeing how you’re the master of them, the riddle goes like this, it’s small but larger than a bee and agile as a flea it hums but does not buzz and it’s not covered in fuzz it is a small collector of juicy flower nectar, also the letters I have to solve it with are U G H M A D R N B I I M thank you for your time. Oh, good Lord. It’s a hummingbird. The letters are literally in front of your face. (sigh) Next. Someone-or-no-one says: I’m teary-eyed, but never cry. Silver-tongued, but never lie. Double-winged, but never fly. Air-cooled, but never dry. What am I? Well this wasn’t exactly a hummingbird, but nonetheless an easy solve. Mercury. Next up. Anonymous says: Hi Riddler! I was wondering if you could tell me what you think of my riddle! “Though said to be common, it is not. Those who have it live a longer life; those who don’t live a harder one. What am I?” You’re joking, right? (sigh) Sense. Sense. It’s sense. Common sense. You know what? I think – mm. I think I need to take a walk. Don’t wait up.
